of Rehabilitation Nurses American organisation promoting professional rehabilitation nursing practice. Contains membership, education and certification information, and information on subscribing to the groups listserv. Australian Nursing Federation (State branches are listed on home page) The Australian Nursing Federation (ANF) was established in 1924. The ANF is the national union for nurses and the largest professional nursing organisation in Australia. The ANFs core business is the industrial and professional representation of nurses and nursing through the activities of a national office and branches in every State and Territory. Australian Nursing Council The Australian Nursing Council (ANC) is a peak national nursing body concerned with national standards and processes for the regulation of nursing within Australia. It was established by the Australian nurse regulatory authorities in 1992 as a forum for considering the regulation of nursing in Australia within a national focus. Each of the eight state and territory nurse regulatory authorities is represented on this Council. College of Nursing The College of Nursing was established as a professional body to represent, assist, educate and support nurses. Membership spans every Australian State and Territory, and seventeen countries worldwide. International Council of Nurses The International Council of Nurses is a federation of national nurses associations (NNAs), representing nurses in more than 120 countries. Founded in 1899, ICN is the worlds first and widest reaching international organisation for health professionals. Operated by nurses for nurses. Joanna Briggs Institute for Evidence Based Nursing The Institute brings together a range of practice-oriented research activities to improve the effectiveness of nursing practice and health care outcomes by conducting systematic reviews and analyses of the research literature.
