Chapter Study Day Dates / Rehab Diary Dates 

 

The Chapter usually holds three or four Study Days per year, with the aim of at least one being in regional Victoria or Tasmania, however, in 2016 we held two Study Days as well as hosting the ARNA Annual Conference in Melbourne. Attendance at Chapter Study Days are at no cost for ARNA members and a small cost for non-members. Corporate members may send two staff at no cost. Morning tea, lunch, a certificate of attendance and lucky door prizes are provided. Registration forms and topics are advertised on the website and emailed to members closer to the event.

Not an ARNA member?
Join up & you may attend all the Victorian/Tasmanian Chapter Study Days at no cost, receive the Journal of ARNA (JARNA) 3 times a year and receive reduced rates to attend the ARNA National Conference. ARNA corporate members may send 2 staff at no cost to Chapter Study Days.

Functional Independence Measure (FIM) Workshop (one day workshop)
Become credentialled as a FIM user by a Master Trainer (a prerequisite for future FIM Facility Trainers)

We are pleased to advise that the ARNA – Victorian/Tasmanian Chapter Study Day and Chapter Meeting at The Victorian Rehabilitation Centre in Glen Waverley, Victoria, was a success. Thanks to Julie Gobbart (past Victorian Chapter President), Shelly (Director of Nursing), Fran (Nurse Educator) and the ARNA Chapter Committee for organising the event. Welcome to the many people who joined ARNA before the day and on the day.

We provided:

The event was hosted by St John of God Geelong Hospital and due to current hospital renovation it was held ‘next door’ at the Mercure. Thanks to Andrea Shrimpton, Emma Webb and the ARNA committee for organising the event.

Chapter Meetings
 

Chapter Meetings for Members

The Chapter Meetings are held during the Chapter Study Days and are an opportunity for members to hear feedback from the President, who attends the monthly teleconferences of the National Committee Meetings, to hear feedback from the regular Chapter Committee Meetings, as well as to provide feedback, ask questions and discuss issues. 

 

Chapter Annual General Meeting for Members

The Chapter Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held during the July or August Chapter Study Day.  Chapter Committee Members are elected, future plans are discussed and member’s input is valued to help develop the Chapter.  We are always looking for people interested in becoming involved in the Chapter.  Each position and portfolio have more than one person involved so there is always support available.  We understand that these are voluntary positions, so any input is welcome.  (This can be included as part of your Continuing Professional Development hours.)

Chapter Committee Meetings for Committee Members

The Chapter Committee Meetings occur on the last Thursday of the month from 4pm to 5pm at Dandenong Hospital and via teleconference.  In 2017 they will be held from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.  Discussion includes; planning future chapter study days, chapter scholarships and promoting the ARNA National Conference.

Details: 
The Chapter is offering 2 x $500 scholarships to attend the ARNA Annual Conference each year.
Application guidelines: These are the same as for the National Scholarship Fund.  The applicant must be an individual member of ARNA and a financial member for a minimum of two consecutive years prior to the scholarship application.
