The University of Tasmania Member Scholarship Program
UTAS Notice - March 2020
We understand the difficulties being faced by our healthcare partners and their employees at the moment, and we appreciate that study obligations are not necessary a priority for everyone.
In regards to partner scholarships, we will not be penalising any student with loss or reduction of scholarship if they don’t study units in Semester One this year – this will be applied to both new and continuing students. We will review this position for Semester Two and provide advice in coming months.
In regards to options for current students, the University has advised some changes to key dates for Semester One, this information is below:
For all coursework, the Census Date for semester 1 is 23 March 2020. This is the last date students can withdraw without academic or financial penalty.
However, our last withdrawal without fail date has been moved to 31 May, which is the last teaching week of the semester. This means that students can withdraw without academic penalty, right up to 31 May.
For students who withdraw from their unit, we will also allow them to study the unit again in the future at no charge. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our help desk on 03 6226 2600.
The University of Tasmania and the Australasian Rehabilitation Nurses’ Association have partnered together to offer Postgraduate Nursing qualifications on a scholarship basis to ARNA members.
As a member of ARNA, under the Member Scholarship Program, you can now undertake a postgraduate nursing course specialising in Rehabilitation Nursing, with the University of Tasmania – and receive a full scholarship on your HECS fees (subject to eligibility).
This scholarship is designed for practicing nurses who would like to specialise in a particular field of healthcare, and is suitable for nurses at various stages of their career.
The course is delivered part time and all units are fully online, providing you the flexibility required to balance work, study and family life.
Under the ARNA Member Scholarship Program, you will be enrolled into the Bachelor of Nursing with Professional Honours (H4F) and will be able to graduate with a Graduate Certificate in Nursing (Specialisation H5F), or a Graduate Diploma in Nursing (Specialisation H6F).
In order to apply for the Bachelor of Nursing with Professional Honours (H4F), you will need to be a Registered Nurse in Australia, and have had at least six months full time experience in a relevant nursing practice within the last five years.
To be eligible for the ARNA Member Scholarship, you will need to a current financial member of ARNA. Proof of membership will be required upon application to this program – please email our office for a proof of membership letter.
